Washington, D.C. – In a major push for transparency, the House Oversight Committee is intensifying its investigation into former President Joe Biden’s mental fitness, his use of “autopen” to sign critical executive actions, and mounting evidence that top aides may have taken control behind the scenes.
Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) announced Thursday that five former high-level Biden administration officials have been summoned for transcribed interviews starting in June. The goal: uncover the truth about Biden’s health and who was truly making decisions at the highest level of government.
“The American people have a right to know the truth,” said Comer. “The Biden administration’s effort to hide the President’s obvious cognitive decline is one of the greatest scandals in modern American politics.”
🔍 Committee Targets Key Biden Insiders
The House Oversight Committee is demanding testimony from the following five individuals, all of whom were close to President Biden during his time in office:
🩺 Dr. Kevin O’Connor — June 25
As Biden’s personal physician, O’Connor is being asked to explain his February 2024 report calling Biden “healthy” and “fit for duty.” Lawmakers also want to know if O’Connor’s financial or personal ties to the Biden family may have influenced that glowing assessment.
🗂️ Neera Tanden — June 18
The former Domestic Policy Council Director and staff secretary is suspected of having outsized control over White House operations. Lawmakers are questioning whether she exercised power reserved for the President—without proper authority.
👥 Who Was Really Making Presidential Decisions?
Before hearing from Tanden and O’Connor, the committee wants testimony from three senior aides who may have performed presidential-level duties while Biden’s cognitive ability was in question:
- Anthony Bernal – June 6
Longtime aide and close confidant to First Lady Jill Biden. - Annie Tomasini – June 6
Deputy Chief of Staff, reportedly involved in key White House decisions. - Ashley Williams – June 2
Senior adviser and director of strategic outreach.
These aides are believed to have helped “run interference” on behalf of President Biden, possibly executing executive decisions while the public remained unaware of his health condition.
A quote from the book Original Sin, cited by Comer’s office, sums it up:
“Five people were running the country, and Joe Biden was at best a senior member of the board.”
⛔ White House Blocked Testimony Before Trump Assassination Attempt
Notably, the Biden White House blocked these aides from testifying on July 10, 2024, just three days before the assassination attempt on then-candidate Donald Trump. That timing has raised serious concerns about deliberate obstruction of oversight.
“We first requested their cooperation in 2023. The White House chose to stonewall. We’re done waiting,” Comer stated. “If they refuse to comply again, we’re ready to act.”
🕵️♂️ What’s Next?
Each of the five individuals has until May 29 to confirm their participation. If they refuse, subpoenas and further legal action are on the table. The Oversight Committee says it will not rest until the American people get the answers they deserve.
