President Moves to Fire Biden-Appointed Bureaucrats Blocking America First Agenda
President Donald J. Trump is once again standing up to the unelected Washington bureaucracy. This week, his administration formally asked the U.S. Supreme Court to lift a lower court’s order that reinstated three Democrat commissioners at the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC)—individuals originally appointed by Joe Biden and removed by President Trump.
The Biden-appointed commissioners were fired as part of President Trump’s ongoing effort to clean house at federal agencies and restore constitutional executive authority. But a federal judge sided with liberal legal activists, temporarily blocking the firings. Now, the Trump administration is fighting back.
In a powerful filing with the Supreme Court, the Department of Justice argued that the president has full legal authority to remove board members who are actively working against the administration’s policies. The filing referenced a prior Supreme Court decision that allowed the removal of members from the National Labor Relations Board and Merit Systems Protection Board, citing the need to avoid chaos caused by repeated removals and reinstatements.
“These commissioners were not just obstructing the president’s agenda—they were appointed by Joe Biden and now make up the majority of the CPSC,” the administration noted. “This judge’s order essentially hands control of a key federal agency to Biden loyalists, despite the fact that President Trump now holds the clear mandate of the American people.”
This case is just the latest example of deep state resistance to President Trump’s efforts to restore law, order, and accountability in Washington. The president remains focused on putting Americans first—not unaccountable career bureaucrats.
As President Trump continues his mission to drain the swamp and take back power from entrenched D.C. insiders, supporters say bold actions like this are exactly what he was elected to do.
