Trump And Putin Reach New Agreement

In a major diplomatic breakthrough, a Russian envoy praised a recent phone conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump, calling it a step toward global stability.

“Under the leadership of President Putin and President Trump, the world has become a much safer place today!” declared Kirill Dmitriev, head of Russia’s sovereign wealth fund, on social media. He described the discussion as “historic” and “epic.”

According to the Kremlin, Putin agreed to a temporary ceasefire targeting energy infrastructure but declined to sign on to a broader truce. He stressed that lasting peace depends on halting foreign military aid and intelligence-sharing with Ukraine.

The White House framed the call as a crucial step toward ending the conflict, expressing optimism about a maritime ceasefire in the Black Sea and a long-term resolution. This marked the first direct conversation between Trump and Putin since Ukraine agreed to a 30-day ceasefire last week.

This diplomatic progress follows Trump’s recent meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, during which he challenged Ukraine’s financial priorities. Shortly after, the Trump administration paused U.S. military aid, conditioning future assistance on a rare earth minerals agreement. Reports also indicated a temporary hold on intelligence-sharing with Ukraine.

Following the U.S. policy shift, Ukraine signaled its willingness to negotiate a truce, contingent on Russia’s approval.

The White House emphasized that improved U.S.-Russia relations could lead to significant economic growth and global stability.

The Kremlin confirmed that Putin ordered a 30-day halt to attacks on Ukrainian energy infrastructure in response to Trump’s proposal. However, Russia stipulated that any extension would require Ukraine to cease military mobilization and weapons procurement from the West.

The conversation also touched on broader geopolitical issues, including rising tensions in the Middle East. The White House reported that both leaders agreed Iran must never be allowed to threaten Israel, underscoring potential U.S.-Russia cooperation in maintaining regional stability. The Kremlin’s readout did not mention Iran.

After the call, Trump took to Truth Social: “My conversation today with President Putin was very good and productive. We agreed to an immediate ceasefire on all energy and infrastructure, and we are working toward a total ceasefire and, ultimately, an END to this horrible war between Russia and Ukraine.”

He added, “This war would have never started if I were President! Many key elements of a peace agreement were discussed, and both President Putin and President Zelensky want to see an end to this conflict. We are moving forward, and hopefully, for the sake of humanity, we will get this job done!”

White House Deputy Chief of Staff Dan Scavino confirmed that the call was “going well and still in progress.”

Ukrainian President Zelensky expressed skepticism but acknowledged, “If there is a partial ceasefire, this is a positive result.”

This historic discussion signals a potential turning point in international relations. With strong leadership and strategic negotiations, Trump is once again positioning himself as a dealmaker on the world stage. Americans will be closely watching as this diplomatic effort unfolds.
