Joe Rogan Breaks with Trump, Slams “Gaslighting” Over Epstein Cover-Up
Popular podcaster Joe Rogan — once a staunch ally of President Donald Trump — is now publicly blasting the former president over the handling of documents tied to convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein. And the backlash from the conservative base is growing louder by the day.
In a recent episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, Rogan accused Trump of “gaslighting” his supporters by allowing his administration to dismiss concerns about Epstein’s death and the much-rumored “client list” of elites who may have been involved.
“This one’s a line in the sand,” Rogan said. “We believed Trump would drain the swamp, expose the truth, and bring justice. Now they want us to believe there’s nothing there? That’s gaslighting.”
Rogan’s frustration comes after the Trump administration released an internal memo this month concluding that no Epstein client list exists and stating it would not release any additional information — a move that has sparked outrage among conservatives who long believed Trump would shine a light on the elite cover-ups in Washington and beyond.
Trump Under Fire from His Own Base
The backlash didn’t stop with Rogan. Tech billionaire Elon Musk also sounded the alarm, drawing attention to Trump’s name being included in past Epstein-related documents and questioning the sudden shut-down of any further investigation.
The Epstein files — a longstanding concern among grassroots conservatives — have become a litmus test for transparency and accountability. Many see Trump’s silence as a sharp break from the anti-establishment promises he once championed.
Rogan, who endorsed Trump in 2024 and hosted him for a lengthy pre-election podcast, is now among a growing number of prominent voices questioning whether the America First movement is losing its edge.
“People believed Trump would get to the bottom of this,” one commenter wrote on Truth Social. “Now we’re being told to just forget it ever happened?”
Is Trump Letting His Base Down?
For millions of conservative Americans who have long demanded answers in the Epstein case, the message from the Trump administration feels like a betrayal. Promises of swamp-draining and elite accountability appear to be fading — and even loyal supporters are beginning to speak out.
Whether this is a misstep or a deeper shift in priorities, one thing is clear: the conservative base is watching, and they aren’t afraid to hold their leaders accountable.
