Trump: “Why didn’t you negotiate before all this death and destruction?”
In a direct escalation of Middle East tensions, Iran has publicly rejected President Donald Trump’s latest peace overture, lashing out with hostile rhetoric and doubling down on its threats against both Israel and the United States.
In a post shared Wednesday on X (formerly Twitter), Iran’s delegation to the United Nations dismissed President Trump’s statement that Iranian officials had sought talks with the White House to de-escalate the ongoing crisis.
“Iran will not enter talks under pressure—and absolutely not with a fading warmonger desperate to stay relevant,” declared the regime’s U.N. delegation.
The combative message followed President Trump’s announcement that Tehran had reached out about a potential meeting to resolve rising tensions.
“They’ve asked to come to the White House,” President Trump told reporters. “That’s courageous. But I asked them, ‘Why didn’t you try negotiating before all the death and destruction?’”
Trump’s 60-Day Deadline Expires—Israel Delivers a Devastating First Strike
President Trump confirmed that Iran had been given a 60-day window to come to the table. That window closed—and on day 61, Israel launched a targeted strike on Iran’s military and nuclear facilities.
“One hell of a hit,” the president said. “It ended the first night—it wasn’t even sustainable for them.”
The Israeli strike reportedly disrupted a planned round of U.S.-Iran nuclear negotiations that were set to begin over the weekend. Iran has long insisted its nuclear program is for “civilian purposes,” but U.S. intelligence and Israeli defense officials say otherwise.
Iran Warns of Retaliation, But Trump Holds the Line
In its statement, Iran’s regime threatened to respond to “any threat with a counter-threat,” promising “reciprocal measures” against further U.S. or Israeli action.
President Trump, who has consistently warned Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei against crossing red lines, is standing firm.
“We may meet—I don’t know,” Trump said. “But they’re totally defenseless now.”
America Leads Through Strength Again
Under President Trump’s decisive leadership, the United States is once again projecting strength on the global stage—restoring deterrence and standing shoulder-to-shoulder with key allies like Israel. Iran’s attempt to provoke conflict while rejecting peaceful negotiations has only reinforced why strong American leadership matters now more than ever.
