Trump To Name Haley As His V.P.?

Former President Trump recently addressed speculation regarding former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley’s potential inclusion on his list of vice presidential candidates, firmly stating that she is “not under consideration,” while offering his well wishes to her.

Trump made his position clear in a post on Truth Social, affirming, “Nikki Haley is not being considered for the V.P. slot, but I wish her well!” This statement came in response to a report by Axios suggesting that Trump’s campaign was contemplating Haley as a potential VP, drawing from insights provided by two individuals familiar with the situation.

Despite the perceived frostiness between Trump and Haley, the report hinted that Trump might lean towards selecting Haley if certain circumstances, such as a conviction, were to arise, considering her potential to bolster his presidential bid.

A Trump campaign official dismissed external claims about Trump’s VP deliberations, asserting, “If anyone other than DJT claims to know who, when, or where he stands on VP selection, they’re not being truthful.”

Haley, who previously vied with Trump in the Republican primary for the 2024 presidential nomination before ending her campaign in March, has refrained from publicly endorsing the former president.

In his quest to regain the presidency, Trump is exploring various contenders for the vice presidential role, including Senators Tim Scott and Marco Rubio, Senator JD Vance, Governor Doug Burgum, Representative Elise Stefanik, and other figures within the Republican sphere.

Following the suspension of her presidential bid, Haley assumed a role at the Hudson Institute, a conservative think tank, as the Walter P. Stern chair. She is scheduled to engage with approximately 100 donors in Charleston over the course of Monday and Tuesday.
