During the visit, Kemp reported that at least 33 lives were lost due to the hurricane and that the storm severely impacted local agriculture. Trump highlighted efforts to restore communications in hard-hit areas, crediting business leaders like Elon Musk and Larry Ellison for their support.

Trump also criticized the Biden administration’s response to the disaster, echoing a growing concern among Republicans regarding federal disaster relief allocation. Meanwhile, Kemp acknowledged the federal assistance, indicating a more collaborative approach than Trump suggested.
