VIDEO: RNC Head Declares War On 2024 GOP Candidate

Ronna McDaniel, the Chairwoman of the Republican National Committee (RNC), rebuffed calls from Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy for her resignation following recent losses suffered by the GOP in key elections. McDaniel dismissed Ramaswamy’s demand as a desperate attempt for attention, citing his low poll numbers of 4%. She made these remarks during an appearance on Fox Business’s Varney & Company, emphasizing the need for the party’s focus to remain on pressing issues such as Joe Biden’s administration, the border crisis, rising crime, and other challenges facing the nation.

According to the Washington Examiner, defending her tenure as RNC chairwoman, McDaniel highlighted her past successes, including securing a Republican victory in Michigan during the 2016 presidential election and regaining control of the House of Representatives in 2022. However, she acknowledged the recent setbacks, particularly in the 2023 elections, attributing part of the GOP’s struggles to a messaging problem on the issue of abortion. McDaniel criticized the party’s failure to respond to substantial spending by Democrats on abortion-related ads in Virginia and Kentucky.

Addressing Ramaswamy’s criticism and call for her resignation, McDaniel clarified that the RNC does not typically involve itself in state races, asserting that it focuses on federal campaigns. She also took a swipe at Ramaswamy, pointing out his previous support for Barack Obama and suggesting his unfamiliarity with the party’s dynamics.

In response, Ramaswamy took to social media to double down on his call for McDaniel’s resignation. He accused her of corruption within the RNC, citing reports that the committee refused to allocate any funding to his campaign. Ramaswamy also refuted McDaniel’s claim about his past voting record, stating that he had not voted for Obama. Despite his low standing in national polls for the Republican presidential primary, Ramaswamy remained steadfast in his demand for McDaniel to step down as RNC chairwoman.
