US Embassies Go Dark On Trump

U.S. embassies around the globe have gone dark—silenced on social media and limiting services—after Democrats forced a government shutdown that began at midnight.

Global Silence as Shutdown Hits

From London to Bangkok, U.S. embassies posted urgent messages: websites will not be updated, social media accounts will go silent, and only emergency safety information will be shared.

The U.S. Embassy in London warned:
“We will not update this account until full operations resume, with the exception of urgent safety and security information.”

The U.S. Embassy in Thailand echoed the same:
“Due to a lapse in appropriations, website updates will be limited until full operations resume.”

Passport and visa services will continue only “as the situation permits.” For millions of Americans traveling or living abroad, this creates uncertainty and danger.

Seniors, Veterans, and Families Pay the Price

While Washington bickers, it’s ordinary Americans who suffer:

  • Seniors who depend on Social Security worry about delays.
  • Veterans relying on VA services face disruptions.
  • Families overseas no longer have access to timely embassy support.

The shutdown leaves U.S. citizens without the basic protections they expect from their government.

Schumer Blames Republicans – Thune Fires Back

As the clock struck midnight, Senate Democrat Leader Chuck Schumer rushed to post on X, blaming Republicans:

“IT’S MIDNIGHT. The Republican shutdown has just begun because they wouldn’t protect Americans’ health care.”

But Republicans say Democrats caused the crisis. Senate Majority Leader John Thune shot back:

“Democrats in the Senate decided to force a shutdown rather than accept a straightforward, nonpartisan funding bill. It was a clean measure—nothing more, nothing less.”

Political Chaos, Real Consequences

This shutdown is not just about Washington infighting—it’s about the lives of hardworking Americans. Thousands of federal workers will miss paychecks. Seniors on fixed incomes are left in limbo. Veterans face service cuts. Travelers abroad are stranded without updates from embassies.

And once again, Democrats are trying to pin the blame on President Trump and Republicans—while ignoring their own refusal to keep the government funded.
