Trump Targeted A 3rd Time

Authorities in California made headlines recently when they announced an arrest just ahead of a rally for former President Donald Trump. During a press briefing on Sunday, Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco provided details on the suspect, 49-year-old Vem Miller from Las Vegas. Miller was apprehended while possessing a shotgun, a loaded handgun, and a high-capacity magazine—items that raise serious concerns, especially at a political event.

Around 5 PM, Miller approached the rally’s VIP area in a black SUV. Sheriff Bianco reported that deputies, while screening vehicles, noticed several irregularities linked to Miller’s car. It was later revealed that Miller was in possession of multiple passports with different names, an unregistered vehicle bearing a fake license plate, and firearms. Bianco stated, “If you’re asking me right now, I probably did have deputies that prevented the third assassination attempt.”

The suspicious nature of Miller’s vehicle and belongings prompted further investigation. Inside, deputies discovered a disarrayed interior, along with signs indicating potential ties to the “sovereign citizens” movement—a fringe group that rejects federal authority and often engages in illegal activities. Bianco emphasized that regardless of political affiliation, such individuals pose a threat. He characterized Miller as a “lunatic” who embodied the risks associated with extremist groups.

Miller was taken into custody without incident and booked for his firearms violations. He later expressed disbelief at his arrest, asserting that he supports Trump and labeling the accusations as false. He claimed to be an artist and denied any intention of causing harm.

While some close to the Trump campaign have suggested that this was not an assassination attempt, the situation underscores the importance of security at political events. Sheriff Bianco reassured the public that the rally’s safety was not compromised and commended law enforcement for their vigilance.

In an era where political tensions are high, the swift action of local authorities highlights the need for continued diligence in safeguarding public events. The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office is collaborating with federal agencies, including the Secret Service and FBI, to further investigate the matter. This incident serves as a reminder that, regardless of political affiliations, we must remain vigilant against those who seek to undermine our democratic process through violence.
