Trump Declares War On Mainstream Media

Former President Donald Trump has called for a comprehensive examination of media bias in the United States, sparking a response from the White House.

In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump expressed concerns about the perceived lack of honesty and integrity in the media landscape. He singled out Comcast, particularly NBC NEWS and MSNBC, which he often referred to as MSDNC (implying a connection to the Democrat National Committee), for their allegedly one-sided and hostile coverage. Trump contended that their persistent reporting on the now-discredited Russia investigation and other issues amounted to a significant campaign contribution to the Radical Left Democrat Party.

Furthermore, Trump pledged to investigate potential corruption within mainstream media organizations and their affiliations with the Democratic Party if he were to be re-elected as president. He emphasized his intention to thoroughly scrutinize their coverage practices, which he viewed as knowingly dishonest and corrupt.

Trump questioned the entitlement of media companies like NBC to utilize the valuable airwaves of the United States for free, asserting that they posed a genuine threat to democracy and characterizing them as the enemy of the people. He concluded his statements by suggesting that the fake news media should face significant consequences for their impact on the nation.

President Joe Biden’s White House responded to Trump’s remarks, with White House senior communications adviser Andrew Bates issuing a statement emphasizing Biden’s commitment to upholding the Constitution and safeguarding American democracy. Bates asserted that freedom of the press is a fundamental constitutional right, and any abuse of presidential power or violation of reporters’ constitutional rights would constitute a grave attack on democracy and the rule of law. The statement emphasized the need for presidents to protect and defend the freedoms of American citizens rather than exploiting them for narrow political purposes.
