Trump Clobbers Chris Christie

On Friday, former President Trump criticized former Gov. Chris Christie (R-N.J.) following the latter’s strong performance in the debate. Trump expressed his disapproval on Truth Social, claiming that Christie, whom he referred to as “Sloppy Chris Christie,” was unfit for the presidency due to what he called “Trump Derangement Syndrome.” Trump asserted that, according to general consensus, Christie ranked last in the debate, contrasting it with his own perceived success in all debates, even in his absence. He concluded the post with a “MAGA” reference.

During the recent Republican primary debate on Wednesday, Christie took aim at Trump. Engaging in a heated exchange with rival candidate Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-Fla.), Christie characterized Trump as an individual seeking retribution. According to Christie, Trump’s presidential aspirations stem from a desire to settle scores with those who have disagreed with him and attempted to hold him accountable for his conduct. Christie argued that Trump’s policy proposals were driven by a plan of retribution.

This latest critique follows a pattern, as it is not the first time Trump has targeted Christie after a debate. In a September post on Truth Social, Trump labeled Christie a “bum” after the former governor heavily criticized him in a GOP primary debate. Trump specifically referenced Christie’s gubernatorial record, highlighting a low 9% approval rating and suggesting that New Jersey residents wanted to remove him from office.
