Trump Attacked By Own GOP Ally

Marjorie Taylor Greene Breaks with Trump After U.S. Hits Iran Nuclear Sites

In a rare and dramatic break from one of his most vocal allies, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) is speaking out against President Donald Trump’s decision to launch targeted U.S. military airstrikes on Iranian nuclear facilities.

On Saturday night, President Trump announced a successful military operation, revealing that American forces had bombed three high-value nuclear sites inside Iran—Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan. The former president praised U.S. troops for their precision and strength, stating, “There is not another military in the world that could have done this. NOW IS THE TIME FOR PEACE!”

“A full payload of BOMBS was dropped,” Trump noted in his official statement. “All planes are safely on their way home.”

Greene Responds with Warning About Border Security and Terror Threats

Just moments after the announcement, Rep. Greene took to X (formerly Twitter) to issue a stark warning to the American people. Her concerns weren’t about the success of the mission—but about the potential blowback at home.

“Let us pray we are not attacked by terrorists on our homeland after our border was open for the past 4 years and over 2 million gotaways came in,” Greene wrote. “Let us join together and pray for the safety of our troops and Americans in the Middle East. Let us pray for peace.”

Greene’s comments reflect growing unease among America First conservatives who fear foreign entanglements could put the U.S. homeland at risk—especially after years of unchecked illegal immigration.

“This Is Not Our Fight,” Says Greene on Israel-Iran Conflict

Greene didn’t hold back, even before the strikes were confirmed. Roughly 30 minutes prior to Trump’s statement, she warned:

“Just as America starts making real progress, we get dragged into yet another conflict overseas. This latest clash wouldn’t be happening if Netanyahu hadn’t launched strikes on Iran first.”

The Georgia congresswoman emphasized that Israel is a “nuclear-armed nation” and urged U.S. leaders to stay out of conflicts that don’t directly involve American interests.

A Divided GOP: America First vs. Neocon Hawks

This is not the first time Greene has challenged the GOP establishment on foreign policy. Alongside Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY), she has become a leading voice against U.S. military involvement in the Middle East. Both lawmakers have pushed back hard against expanded aid to Israel.

Greene notably voted against all three House aid packages to Israel following the October 7th attacks, and she opposed efforts under the Biden administration to fast-track arms transfers to Tel Aviv.

Her America First message is simple: Protect our borders first—before funding foreign wars.

Greene: “The Base Is Not Happy”

Back in May, Greene issued a blunt message to the GOP’s hawkish wing:

“I speak for the grassroots, and when I’m this frustrated, it’s a clear sign that the conservative base is fed up.”

She doubled down on that message, reminding Americans that her campaign was built on a promise of no more endless wars.

“We have no business launching airstrikes for other nations—especially ones that already possess nuclear weapons and strong militaries,” Greene stated.

Conservatives Question the Cost of Foreign Intervention

With Trump’s decisive military action in Iran and growing instability across the Middle East, many older conservative voters are asking:
Is it time to bring the focus back home?

As Greene’s comments echo across social media, they are resonating with a conservative base that’s tired of global conflict, worried about border security, and focused on rebuilding America first.
