Top Foreign Leader To Attend Trump Inauguration?

Argentine President Javier Milei is set to attend President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration on January 20, 2025, joining a growing list of foreign leaders who have been invited to the momentous event. Milei, a staunch libertarian and ally of conservative movements worldwide, has developed a close relationship with Trump, and he will be making the trip to Washington, D.C. after receiving a personal invitation from the incoming president, according to reports from La Nacion, a Buenos Aires-based news outlet.

While it is customary for countries to send their diplomats rather than their heads of state to U.S. presidential inaugurations, Trump has broken with tradition. The 78-year-old president-elect has made it clear that he wants to personally connect with leaders who have supported his agenda, both during his previous term and in the lead-up to his return to the White House. At a press conference in Mar-a-Lago, Trump stated, “The world leaders are calling me, and some really would like to meet.” He mentioned that he has already spoken with leaders from over 100 countries, including those who reached out to congratulate him on his overwhelming victory.

Milei, who has implemented significant reforms in Argentina, including slashing government bureaucracy, has aligned himself closely with the American conservative movement. He was a featured speaker at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) earlier this year and has built strong ties with prominent figures like Elon Musk, who attended an America First Policy Institute gala alongside him.

In addition to Milei, other rising stars in the global conservative movement have been invited to the inauguration, including Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and El Salvador’s President Nayib Bukele, both of whom have earned praise from Trump for their bold leadership and commitment to conservative principles.

This inauguration promises to be more than just a U.S. political milestone; it will be a gathering of like-minded leaders committed to promoting freedom, reducing government overreach, and championing the interests of their people on the global stage.
