Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker (D) is lashing out at President Donald Trump’s top adviser, Stephen Miller, accusing him of masterminding the White House’s border crackdown — and claiming he’s secretly “controlling” the president’s immigration agenda.
During a podcast interview Thursday, Pritzker said Miller is “enabling” Trump’s efforts to remove illegal immigrants, suggesting the longtime aide is “pushing authoritarian tactics” inside federal agencies.
“He’s clearly the one pushing the tactics at DHS, CBP, and ICE,” Pritzker told The Bulwark. “He’s aiming to make Donald Trump an authoritarian leader.”
Pritzker then went further, claiming Trump has “diminished capacity” and that aides like Miller are taking advantage of him — a statement many conservatives call outrageous and disrespectful to the Commander-in-Chief.
Trump’s Team Fights to Restore Law and Order
Stephen Miller, one of the architects of Trump’s “America First” agenda, has made no secret of his mission: to restore law and order at the border and end the Biden-era chaos.
In a Fox News interview with Sean Hannity earlier this year, Miller said:
“President Trump is going to keep pushing to get that number up higher each and every single day so we can get all of the Biden illegals that were flooded into our country for four years out of our country.”
The administration has set a bold goal of 3,000 federal immigration arrests per day, part of a historic operation to protect American workers, families, and communities from the surge of illegal crossings that exploded under Joe Biden.
Democrats in Meltdown Over Trump’s Success
As National Guard units deploy to Chicago and other cities to assist ICE and Border Patrol, liberal leaders are furious. Pritzker has clashed repeatedly with the Trump administration, even issuing a public dare when Trump said he and Chicago’s far-left mayor Brandon Johnson “should go to jail” for failing to enforce the law.
“Come and get me,” Pritzker shot back — a statement that drew immediate backlash online.
Four days later, Vice President J.D. Vance fired back on ABC’s This Week, saying Pritzker’s anger was misplaced.
“Why is he so mad at Donald Trump for trying to keep Chicagoans safe? He should be mad at the criminals he’s failed to keep off the streets,” Vance said. “We’re trying to help him, and he just won’t let us.”
Trump’s Immigration Crackdown Gains Steam
While Democrats accuse Trump’s team of “authoritarianism,” millions of Americans see something very different — a president finally standing up for border security, public safety, and the rule of law.
Stephen Miller’s tough stance on illegal immigration continues to make him a target for the left, but to Trump supporters, he represents one thing: results.
After four years of open borders, record fentanyl deaths, and violent crime in major cities, the message from the White House is clear:
America comes first again.
