Popular Republican Announces Presidential Run?

Senator Ted Cruz, a Republican from Texas, recently expressed his intention to run for the presidency in the future.

According to Newsmax, in an interview with The Texas Tribune, Cruz discussed his previous presidential run in 2016, emphasizing the enjoyment he derived from it and his close call to victory.

He stated, “I loved running for president in 2016. We came incredibly close. We came within inches of winning. It’s the most fun I’ve ever had in my life, and I fully hope and expect to run again at some point.”

Cruz explained that he opted not to pursue the Republican nomination this time because he felt the timing wasn’t right. He believes he can currently make a more significant impact by opposing Democratic policies in the Senate, saying, “The Senate right now is the battlefield for all of these issues.”

Furthermore, in an interview with Newsmax, Cruz criticized President Joe Biden’s policies and the Democrats’ stance on keeping the southern border open to illegal migrants.

He accused them of aligning with the cartels, stating, “I think Texas is doing everything it can to fight to secure the border. And the problem is that [President Joe Biden’s] administration is fighting on the side of the cartels. The Biden administration wants this crisis to happen.”
