Obama Takes A Swipe At Trump

Barack Obama is back in the political spotlight — this time attacking President Donald Trump’s tough stance on crime and immigration.

In a post on X, Obama claimed the Trump administration’s use of the military on U.S. soil threatens “due process and civil liberties.”

But critics say Obama is more worried about Trump’s success than about protecting American families suffering under Democrat-run cities.

Obama Warns Against Trump’s Law-and-Order Agenda

The Department of Homeland Security recently asked Naval Station Great Lakes, north of Chicago, for support in upcoming immigration crackdowns. DHS described the request as “limited support” for facilities and logistics — not combat troops.

Still, Obama and Illinois Democrats quickly cried foul, accusing Trump of “militarization.”

Illinois Democrats Fight Trump, Ignore Chicago Crime

Governor J.B. Pritzker and Mayor Brandon Johnson, both Democrats, vowed to block any National Guard presence.

But crime in Chicago continues to spiral. Over the weekend, six people were killed and 27 more wounded in shootings. Trump blasted Pritzker and Johnson on Truth Social, saying:

“A really DEADLY weekend in Chicago. Panic-stricken Governor Pritzker says crime is under control when it’s the opposite. He is incompetent. Mayor Johnson is no better. MAKE CHICAGO GREAT AGAIN!”

Obama Pushes Liberal Media Narrative

Instead of addressing the violence, Obama promoted a New York Times podcast that warned about Trump’s “federalization” of police.

Critics point out Obama had no problem deploying federal resources when it suited his agenda during his presidency.

Trump: “Democrats Can’t Stop the Crime”

President Trump has made restoring law and order a pillar of his second term. On Truth Social, he wrote:

“Governor Pritzker had 6 murders in Chicago this weekend. 20 people shot. But he doesn’t want to ask me for help. Can this be possible? The people are desperate for me to STOP THE CRIME. Democrats aren’t capable of doing it. STAY TUNED!!!”

The Bottom Line

Obama’s latest swipe shows Democrats are more concerned with protecting their image than protecting American citizens.

President Trump is focused on stopping crime, securing the border, and restoring law and order — while Democrats like Obama, Pritzker, and Johnson play politics.
