Greene Breaks with Trump on Israel and Gaza Policy
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., shocked conservatives this week when she blasted President Trump’s administration for halting medical visas for Palestinian children.
The State Department announced Saturday that it would suspend all visitor visas from Gaza while it conducts a “full review” of the process. The decision came after conservative activist Laura Loomer raised alarms about a humanitarian group allegedly trying to “mass import Gazans” under the guise of medical care.
Greene Says America’s Heart Is “Growing Cold”
Greene took to social media to condemn the decision, saying America should never turn its back on innocent children — especially when private donors fund the surgeries.
“Wouldn’t we allow Israeli children lifesaving care if they needed it? Why deny Palestinian children the same compassion?” Greene wrote.
She warned that America is drifting away from its traditional values of compassion and justice, arguing that the policy sends the wrong message to the world.
Ties Controversy to Israeli Official’s Arrest
Greene also blasted the administration over the recent release of Tom Artiom Alexandrovich, a senior Israeli cyber official arrested in Las Vegas for allegedly soliciting sex from a minor.
Though local law enforcement insisted the U.S. government played no role in his release, Greene accused Washington of being “subservient” to Israel.
“Why would we let a foreign child sex predator walk free while turning away war-torn children who need medical care?” she asked.
Loomer Praises Trump, Greene Pushes Back
Conservative firebrand Laura Loomer applauded Trump’s decision, warning that unchecked medical visas could be exploited by Hamas supporters. Many on the Right share those concerns, especially after years of weak border enforcement under Joe Biden.
But Greene’s attack highlights a deeper rift inside the GOP — how to balance support for Israel with America’s role as a nation rooted in Christian compassion.
What Comes Next?
The Trump administration has not said whether medical visas for Gaza children will resume. What is clear, however, is that Greene is carving out her own space in the Republican Party — willing to confront even Trump when she believes America’s moral foundation is at stake.
