Ivanka Trump Cuts Ties With Dad?

Ivanka Trump has made it clear that she will not be returning to the White House to serve in a second term under her father, President Donald Trump, when his new administration begins. In a recent interview on the Skinny Confidential podcast, she shared the “main reason” behind her decision, emphasizing the importance of family and the personal sacrifices required by such a high-profile role.

During the first Trump administration, Ivanka played a significant role as an adviser, focusing on issues such as paid family leave and economic empowerment. Her visibility and influence made her a key figure in the White House, with many seeing her as one of the more moderate voices in the administration. However, her involvement also attracted criticism, with detractors accusing President Trump of nepotism for bringing family members into top positions of power.

Now, as her father prepares for a second term, Ivanka’s decision to step back from formal political life centers around her children. As she explained, raising teenagers has changed her perspective. “The top reason I’m not going back to the White House now is I understand the cost and it is a price that I’m not willing to make my children bear,” she said. For Ivanka, family is her “highest, most core value,” and being physically present for her children as they enter their teenage years has become even more important.

In addition to her family priorities, Ivanka also mentioned her discomfort with the darker side of politics. “I love policy and impact. I hate politics,” she confessed. While she values making a positive difference, she is not interested in the negative, combative nature of modern political life. Her reluctance to dive back into the political arena is rooted in her desire to keep her personal life separate from the often toxic battles that define Washington, D.C.

Since leaving the White House in 2021, Ivanka has distanced herself from active political campaigning, and despite being a trusted voice for her father, she has opted to support him from the sidelines. As she told CNN, she will always love and support her father, but she is committed to doing so “outside the political arena.” It’s clear that, for Ivanka Trump, family comes first, and she’s made the conscious choice to focus on her loved ones, not on a political comeback.
