GOP To Freeze All Immigration

Republicans are preparing one of the most sweeping immigration crackdowns in modern American history. In a bold new move, Rep. Chip Roy says he will introduce legislation to freeze all immigration into the United States until America confronts what he calls a deep cultural, security, and demographic crisis.

Roy revealed the proposal during an interview on The Benny Show, warning that the country is facing a breaking point after years of unchecked immigration, strained communities, and failed border policies.

“We’re facing a cultural problem about who we are as Americans,” Roy said. “We need to shut everything down until we fix this.”

This announcement comes as Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene introduces her own bill aimed at ending what she calls the “mass replacement of American workers”—a direct challenge to the H-1B visa program used heavily by Big Tech companies like Amazon, Microsoft, and Google.

A Crisis Hitting Everyday Americans

Immigration has long been a central issue for President Trump and conservative voters, but Roy says the situation has now reached emergency levels. Texas, he explains, has shouldered the heaviest burden, with massive spikes in illegal immigration, overwhelmed communities, and a system that rewards foreign workers over American citizens.

Roy said the H-1B program—along with chain migration and diversity visas—has been “abused for decades” and is now harming American workers, American families, and American taxpayers.

“We’re importing people who don’t want to assimilate, don’t share our values, and don’t embrace our Constitution,” Roy warned.

Instead of integrating into American culture, he argued, many new arrivals are forming separate communities, creating long-term cultural tension and security risks.

A Demographic Wake-Up Call

Roy also highlighted a demographic shift that he says Washington refuses to talk about.

“We’re bringing in masses of people who are having more children, while core American families are having fewer. That creates a long-term demographic and cultural problem for the country.”

He said the country must take immediate steps to protect its identity and stability, including:

  • Ending the H-1B visa system
  • Ending birthright citizenship
  • Ending federal support for educating illegal immigrants
  • Freezing all immigration until reforms are completed

Roy didn’t mince words:

“Why don’t we just stop immigration entirely until we sort this mess out?”

He expects to introduce the bill within days, noting that the recent government shutdown briefly delayed the rollout.

Academic Elites and Corporate Voices Panic

As expected, liberal economists and university professors quickly sounded the alarm, warning that a freeze on foreign labor would hurt Big Tech, slow economic growth, and reduce corporate profits.

Several academics interviewed by Newsweek argued that limiting immigration would reduce GDP, lower innovation rates, and push tech companies to move jobs overseas. Others repeated long-standing talking points claiming that foreign workers boost productivity and help universities maintain research output.

Conservatives counter that these arguments expose the real issue:
corporations want cheaper foreign labor, not stronger American families or stronger American communities.

A Growing Movement Within the GOP

Many conservatives are rallying behind Roy’s proposal, calling it long overdue. With President Trump already restoring border enforcement and reversing Biden-era immigration policies, Republican voters see this bill as the next major step toward reclaiming national security and American identity.

Supporters say Washington must stop serving global corporations and start protecting American workers, American values, and American communities.

The message from the conservative base is unmistakable:

America cannot survive without secure borders, cultural unity, and immigration policies that actually protect citizens.
