Democrats Playing Very Dangerous Game With Trump

According to former acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker, the potential seizure of Donald Trump’s properties by prosecutors could inadvertently bolster the former president’s political influence. Whitaker expressed his concerns during an interview on Newsmax’s “Saturday Report,” suggesting that such actions might actually enhance Trump’s power rather than diminish it.

New York Attorney General Letitia James has indicated her readiness to pursue the seizure of some of Trump’s assets, although the timeline for these actions remains uncertain. Despite inquiries into her office’s plans, they have chosen not to disclose any specifics at this time.

Whitaker cautioned against precipitous actions, urging James to await the outcome of legal processes such as appeals court rulings on matters such as the Eighth Amendment’s prohibition against excessive fines and the issue of due process. He also raised questions about the potential bias of Judge Arthur Engeron and emphasized the importance of resolving these issues before moving forward with property seizures.

In Whitaker’s view, the cases against Trump are not just legal matters but also involve elements of what he describes as “election interference.” He suggested that there might be a concerted effort to keep Trump entangled in legal battles to prevent him from actively participating in political campaigns.

Despite the legal challenges and a substantial judgment against him in New York amounting to $454 million, Trump asserted his financial capacity, claiming to possess nearly half a billion dollars in cash. However, he indicated a preference for allocating these resources towards his presidential ambitions rather than settling the judgment. Trump vowed to contest the verdict vigorously, signaling his willingness to take the case all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court if necessary.
