Shocking Praise: Fetterman Says Trump Deserves Credit for Historic Peace Deal
In a stunning twist that’s sending shockwaves through Washington, Democratic Sen. John Fetterman of Pennsylvania told Fox News that if President Donald Trump’s Gaza peace deal holds—and if it helps end the Russia-Ukraine war—then Trump deserves the Nobel Peace Prize.
“If this sticks, I think the whole point of the Nobel Peace Prize is ending wars and promoting peace,” Fetterman said Thursday. “If he brings the Ukrainian war to its end, I’ll be the Democrat leading the committee for his Nobel Peace Prize.”
Fetterman’s comments come as Trump’s odds of winning the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize have skyrocketed following the breakthrough U.S.-backed Gaza peace plan.
According to betting site Star Sports, Trump’s chances jumped from 5/1 to 3/1, making him the second-most-favored candidate to take home the prize—an astonishing leap just days after he announced the agreement.
Trump’s Historic Peace Push Gains Global Attention
The Associated Press admitted that Trump’s chances remain “uncertain,” but even liberal outlets are acknowledging that his diplomacy could reshape global politics.
Trump, who’s been nominated for the Nobel Prize multiple times since 2018, has long said recognition doesn’t matter as much as results. On Truth Social, he wrote:
“I probably won’t ever receive a Nobel Peace Prize, no matter what I accomplish — whether it’s bringing peace between Russia and Ukraine or Israel and Iran — but the people understand, and that’s what truly matters to me.”
The President’s statement came after announcing a major breakthrough in the Israel-Hamas conflict, saying it would lead to the release of all hostages and a long-term ceasefire.
“This is a GREAT day for the Arab and Muslim world, for Israel, for all nations involved—and for the United States of America. Blessed are the peacemakers!” Trump declared.
Even Democrats Are Backing Trump’s Leadership
Fetterman’s remarks mark yet another break with the far-left wing of his party. In recent months, he’s voted with Republicans on several key issues, including measures to fund the government and resist limits on the President’s ability to take decisive military action against drug cartels.
He’s become one of the few Democrats willing to publicly praise Trump for his foreign policy successes—something unthinkable during the Biden years.
After Trump’s peace announcement, Fetterman posted on X (formerly Twitter):
“Now, enduring peace in the region is possible. Our parties are different, but we share an ironclad commitment to Israel and its people.”
In a follow-up video, the senator added:
“Thankfully, now we have the possibility to end this terrible war and bring back the remaining hostages. I’m proud to stand with Israel and will continue to do so.”
Nobel Prize Buzz Builds Before Friday’s Announcement
The global buzz around Trump’s Nobel chances is impossible to ignore. Even progressive lawmaker Rep. Ro Khanna (D-Calif.) admitted that if Trump’s motivation leads to peace, “so be it.”
“I don’t care who gets credit,” Khanna told MSNBC. “If it stops the bombing and saves lives, it’s a good thing.”
The 2025 Nobel Peace Prize winner will be announced Friday, and for the first time in years, the world is watching to see if Donald J. Trump—the man the media mocked for pursuing peace—will finally get the recognition he deserves.
