CNN Fuming Over One GOP Candidate

CNN analyst Van Jones expressed deep concern and apprehension while watching GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy during the recent debate. Jones cautioned that the nation is witnessing the ascent of an American demagogue, emphasizing the danger posed by Ramaswamy’s endorsement of conspiracy theories.

In a post-debate panel discussion on CNN, Jones strongly criticized Ramaswamy for embracing conspiracy theories and characterized him as a perilous figure. He particularly highlighted the candidate’s smug and condescending delivery of what he deemed poisonous rhetoric. Jones underscored the long-lasting impact of such a figure, stating that while Ramaswamy may not stop at Trump, he could potentially influence the political landscape for decades.

Jones revealed the intensity of his reaction, admitting to feeling shaken while listening to Ramaswamy speak. He stressed the proximity of the candidate’s rhetoric to Nazi propaganda, describing it as a step away from such alarming historical parallels.

During the discussion, Jones dissected the “great replacement” conspiracy theory that Ramaswamy openly supported during the debate. He explained the dangerous implications of such rhetoric, drawing parallels to past slogans used by hate groups and emphasizing the potential for inciting violence. Jones asserted that the conspiracy theory, which posits a manipulative Democratic Party agenda linked to people of color, is not only harmful but also poses risks to Jewish people and individuals of color.

Earlier in the debate, Ramaswamy had presented a list of far-right conspiracy theories, including the “great replacement theory,” questioning why he appeared to be the only one acknowledging these beliefs. Jones responded by condemning the theory as false and discrediting its portrayal as a basic statement of the Democratic Party’s platform.
