Clinton Family Spending Millions To Stop Trump

President Biden’s re-election campaign has received a significant financial boost, thanks to the support from the Clintons.

During a recent fundraiser, Biden’s campaign reported raising $8.1 million. This event featured the presence of former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who also was the Democratic nominee in the 2016 presidential election. The fundraiser was held at the residence of Terry McAuliffe, a former governor of Virginia and a close confidant of the Clintons, in McLean, Virginia. This area is known for its affluent neighborhoods located just outside of Washington, D.C.

The event also saw the attendance of John Grisham, the renowned author famous for his legal thrillers. During the gathering, President Biden addressed his supporters and took the opportunity to criticize former President Trump, his anticipated rival in the 2024 election. Biden reiterated his characterization of Trump as a “convicted felon,” referencing the 34 felony convictions Trump received the previous month, marking an unprecedented moment in U.S. history for a former president.

“Democracy is on the ballot this year,” Biden declared, emphasizing the stakes of the upcoming election.

This fundraiser came on the heels of another major event in Los Angeles, where Biden set a new record for Democratic Party fundraising by amassing over $30 million. This star-studded event included appearances by former President Obama, actors George Clooney and Julia Roberts, and late-night television host Jimmy Kimmel.

The Biden campaign highlighted that the northern Virginia fundraiser, the Los Angeles gala, and a separate event in California headlined by First Lady Jill Biden collectively brought in more than $40 million. Despite Biden’s lead in fundraising, former President Trump is making strides to catch up. In April, Trump’s campaign and the Republican National Committee (RNC) surpassed Biden’s campaign and the Democratic National Committee (DNC) in fundraising for the first time.

Recently, Trump’s campaign announced that it, along with the RNC, raised an impressive $141 million in May, driven in part by the publicity surrounding Trump’s legal issues. In addition, Trump’s campaign reported raising approximately $27.5 million from a recent fundraising tour in California and Nevada. Meanwhile, the Biden campaign and the DNC have not yet disclosed their fundraising totals for June.
