Biden Takes A Cheap Shot At Trump’s Bible

During his visit to Florida, President Biden didn’t hold back in his criticism of former President Trump, particularly targeting Trump’s recent promotion of Bibles and his stance on abortion.

Addressing the crowd, President Biden didn’t mince words as he tied Trump’s actions to the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, blaming him for the subsequent wave of restrictive abortion laws at the state level. With a touch of sarcasm, Biden referenced Trump’s characterization of the Supreme Court’s ruling as a “miracle,” humorously suggesting that perhaps Trump’s newfound enthusiasm for the Bible stemmed from his recent attempts to sell them.

“He seemed quite enamored with the Dobbs decision, almost calling it a miracle,” Biden remarked, prompting laughter from the audience. “I was almost tempted to purchase one of those Bibles he’s pushing just to see what all the fuss is about.”

Biden went on to dissect the political maneuvers behind Trump’s support from evangelical voters, suggesting that Trump’s commitment to appoint anti-abortion justices was part of a calculated deal to overlook his personal shortcomings.

Trump’s endorsement of “God Bless the USA” Bibles ahead of Easter didn’t escape Biden’s critique either. While Trump positioned himself as a champion of Christian values, Biden pointed out the irony of commodifying the Bible, especially during a sacred time like Holy Week. Trump’s call to “make America pray again” was met with skepticism from some quarters, who viewed it as a crass exploitation of religious sentiment for personal gain.

Despite Trump’s attempts to align himself with Christian conservatism, his actions, including profiting from Bible sales, raised eyebrows among both liberals and conservatives alike. Biden’s remarks underscored the ongoing debate over the intersection of religion and politics, particularly in the context of moral leadership and genuine faith.
