Americans Say Civil War Coming?

A shocking new poll reveals that millions of Americans now believe a second civil war could break out within the next 10 years — a fear driven by rising political violence, deep division, and failed leadership from the radical left.

With crime surging in Democrat-run cities and violent protests erupting nationwide, many citizens are growing deeply concerned about the direction of the country. From the assassination of Minnesota Democrat Melissa Hortman to left-wing riots in Los Angeles protesting President Trump’s immigration enforcement, the warning signs are impossible to ignore.

🔥 Governor Newsom Accuses Trump — Trump Fires Back

California Governor Gavin Newsom, a Democrat closely tied to the Biden-era political establishment, accused President Donald Trump of wanting to start a “civil war on the streets of America.” But Trump shot back forcefully, saying:

“I don’t want a civil war. Civil war would happen if you left it to people like him.”

This exchange highlights the widening political chasm — one fueled not by patriotic Americans, but by far-left politicians and activists who openly sow division, undermine law enforcement, and demonize conservatives.

📊 New Poll: 4 in 10 Americans See Civil War as Likely

A June 2025 YouGov poll of 3,375 U.S. adults revealed:

  • 12% say a civil war is “very likely”
  • 28% say it’s “somewhat likely”
  • That’s 40% total who believe civil conflict could erupt — more than those who think it’s unlikely

Only 22% said a civil war is “not very likely,” while 17% said “not likely at all.” Another 18% were unsure, and 3% refused to answer.

Perhaps most striking: Democrats were even more likely than Republicans to predict civil war — 48% of Democrats said it’s at least somewhat likely, compared to 32% of Republicans.

⚠️ Americans Alarmed by Increasing Political Violence

Dr. Nina Silber, a professor and Civil War historian at Boston University, says while a 19th-century-style conflict is unlikely, the threat of sustained civil unrest is real.

“We’re seeing more political violence, and it’s being normalized by leaders who treat it as acceptable,” she warned.

A DHS intelligence report leaked last year also sounded the alarm, noting that certain domestic extremist groups are openly discussing a second civil war, linking it to the 2024 election and current political instability.

🇺🇸 Americans Want Peace — But the Left Keeps Turning Up the Heat

Despite repeated calls for unity, Democrat leaders continue to fan the flames of unrest, push divisive policies, and undermine efforts to restore law and order.

While no state or federal agency is preparing for large-scale domestic conflict, the writing is on the wall. Everyday Americans see the signs: soaring crime, collapsing trust in institutions, and rising attacks on political figures.

With the 2026 midterms on the horizon, the stakes couldn’t be higher.
